Our Northern Michigan Red Carpet Premiere!
We are so grateful to Joe Yuchasz of the Elk Rapids Cinema for including Sisters in his line up of films celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the theater.
The line for tickets stretched down the block the night of our Premiere. Some came from as far away as the Detroit area! What an awesome thrill it was to sit in a packed theater and listen to the audience laugh and cry at our film. Thank you Michiganders!
Afterwards, half of the audience stayed for a Q & A session with the Director and some of the Cast. It was a night to remember!

It's Cold Out There, Baby!
We're moving on to the Distribution Phase.
What a feeling it is to have your film finished! Many of you have been there. It's a long haul, especially for your first feature-length film. Now it's time to get your baby out there. Not for the faint of heart. The first thing I realized was, I need a plan.
So here's the plan: 1. Pray; 2. Make sure the website and social media outlets are up-to-date with current info and calls to action; 3. Establish a secure online screening room for potential distributors and persons of interest; 4. Submit to Film Festivals; 5. Start contacting people.
Don't let your baby just sit there. She's worth spending more time and energy on so that she can go out into the world and do what she was meant to do! You've got this!

Every Shot a Story
Funny story.
While I'm scrubbing through the film (moving through the footage), I often stop on a frame where the actor has a strange or ugly look on their face. It's not their fault, it's just I've accidentally caught them on the way to a different expression. I actually have a knack for it. People walking by will stop, look at the monitor, and sarcastically say things like, "Nice shot," or "that's a good one."
The other day I stopped the footage to work on some audio. When I looked up, the shot above was on the screen. I thought, that's not an ugly face!

Color Correction Has Begun!!
Moving on to Color Correction and Color Grading
Post-production is time consuming, but so rewarding. Sound sweetening is almost finished, and today we moved on to color correction. In a few weeks we'll start color grading, which is pretty much the last step on up to the finish line!!! Please keep us in your prayers!

Do Not Grow Weary
Galatians 6:9
This week's verse is Gal. 6:9 to help us carry on as we get a little weary of the grind of filming. It's also a line from the movie, from a scene in which Dr. Whitney quotes, "Do not grow weary of doing good. For in due season we shall reap if we do not give up."
The Perks of a Hospital Location
Shooting has been great!
And the cast has been doing some great bonding. Here are Jane and Kim taking five in the hospital bed with their phones from the shoot last weekend. We got some great footage. Boy these ladies can act!
